The first West Coast 914 Wramble is history. Rich Herzog was the event meister and according to all reports, organized a terrific event! Weather was reported to have been perfect for the event. There were 47 for dinner at the National Automobile Museum Saturday night, 24 cars for the Tour, 13 cars for the Sho & Shine, and 6 cars for the Autocross on Sunday...an excellent turnout...
Mark Britell reported that he had lots of fun, but says that it really wasn't a WCW...more of a WIW (Wramble In Wreno).
After breakfast, we went West to pick up US 281, our favorite route to South Central Texas. We met up with 3 fellow teeners in Avant. This group had come from Dallas, down I-35, to Waco and over on US

"The Tour was good, but a few of us took a wrong turn and missed the timed part, which screwed up Rich's plans of a poker run (sorry Rich). The dinner at the museum was something I'll never, ever forget. To have the place all to ourselves was a once in a lifetime event for me. I've never been so close to so much history, automotive or not."
"About the Autocross, all I can say is WHEEEEEEEEE!! Mike Mueller was kind enough to let me be ballast in his Carrera 2. [ed. MM doesn't have a running 914, so he brought his 911 and enough wine and cheese for the entire group ;-)] There are going to be a few things fixed on my blue car and then I'm going looking for an AX. That was way too much fun!"
" It was a wonderful few days. Major thanks to (an overworked) Rich, his lovely better half, Joy, and all who had a hand in the Wramble in Wreno. I hope to be able to attend another one next year."
I hope to have more details soon, plus a few pictures. Keep checking back...
