Tim Green
1974 2.0 Six White/Green
Supposed to be an Al Holbert SCCA Production
car from mid 70's. Purchased as a roller in early
1996. My first race in it was 4/2002.
The body of the car as you see it is how I bought
it. The only thing I have done on that so far is
paint the doors and hoods POLIZEI green. I
broke the left front suspension at the PCA
Gingerman road race July 4th, 2003 weekend
and that took out the left front fender. I decided
to remove both fenders and the front nose and
replace it with a single piece front. We are still in
the process of doing that and hope to be racing
again in September. We are also replacing both
front uprights with custom RSR coil-over
uprights made for us by Rich Johnson in Texas.
This winter we plan on removing the rear fenders and installing 'normal' 914-6 fiberglass fenders, the
previous owner was building the car for IMSA racing - hence the extremely wide fenders, however he
never completed the job. Then we will have the car repainted white/green again to resemble a German
Police Car, complete with German blue light.
It appears to me that this car is made from several different pieces as it has been a race car most of it's
life. The engine is defiantly a multi origin machine as I bought the parts, with some direction from Jerry
Woods, from many sources and had it assembled by a mechanic friend from Rottweil, Germany. I then
had it dyno tested at Midwest Eurosports in Bensenville, Illinois. The car was built to compete in SCCA
class GT-3 so it is not as competitive in PCA class GT-5R, but this way I have a car that can be raced in
many events.
